Çengelköy, Restoration of Bostancıbaşı Abdullah Ağa Seaside Mansion

The Abdullah Ağa Seaside Mansion, the restoration project of which had been implemented by TAÇ Foundation, and which was owned by the Ministry of Justice Directorate General of Technical Services, was planned to be used once again for social functions.

Sultanahmet, Light and Sound Shows
2004 – 1984
Organized in Sultanahmet Park every year from 1 May to 30 September, the light and sound show is a 40-minute program that depicts İstanbul’s history; the conquest of İstanbul; construction and characteristics of the Sultahahmet (Blue) Mosque and the dialogues of Ahmet I with his Grandvezir and Chief Architect Sedefkar Mehmet Ağa; the different periods of the Ottoman Empire; Occupation of İstanbul by the Allied Forces; War of Independence, and the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. Implemented by TAÇ Foundation in collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism for twenty years, the light and sound show’s texts were written by Turan Oflazoğlu and music was conducted by Nevit Kodallı with dubbing prepared in four different languages.

Faculty of Economics Alumni Association, Kandilli

Relief drawings were prepared for the old stone building in Kandilli, which had been built in 1893, and later allocated to the Faculty of Economics Alumni Association, and its project was created as a social facility for the use of the association along with its 5,000-square meter yard surrounding it.

Ancient city of Zeugma
2001 – 2004
In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ankara University Zeugma Excavation Chair, Zeugma Initiative Group (Koç Holding A.Ş.), and David and Lucile Packard Foundation, TAÇ Foundation launched a project to determine, document and save cultural assets in the Ancient City of Zeugma. As part of the project, several activities were carried out including archaeological excavations, documentation of the recovered cultural assets, transportation of moveable cultural assets to muesums, and organization of a protected area as well as the establishment of social facilities.
