COMPLETED PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES

Kayserili Ahmet Paşa Mansion, Süleymaniye 1979

An important example of Turkish civil architecture, this wooden mansion is a significant cultural asset. The owner and the contractor made a deal to bring down the mansion, which was then partially demolished. During that period, TAÇ Foundation alerted the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as well as the Supreme Board of Monuments, and consequently, demolition was stopped. Reconstruction of the destroyed parts was partially financed by TAÇ Foundation. İstanbul Department of Building Survey and Monuments carried out the restoration work at the mansion, which now hosts the Regional Directorate of the Board for the Preservation of Cultural and Natural Assets of the Ministry of Tourism.
