Dr. M. Sinan Genim
Chairman

He was born in 1945 in İstanbul. He graduated from the İstanbul State Academy of Fine Arts Faculty of Architecture in 1969. He received his Master’s degree from the Department of Building Survey and Restoration at İstanbul State Academy of Engineering and Architecture in 1975, and his PhD in 1980 from the Turkish and Islamic Arts Chair at the Department of Art History at İstanbul University Faculty of Arts. He worked as an architect at the Department of National Palaces of Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) (1969-1971), Architectural History and Building Survey assistant at the İstanbul State Academy of Fine Arts Faculty of Architecture, lecturer at the Aesthetics and Art History Chair at İstanbul University Faculty of Arts and Mimar Sinan University Faculty of Building Survey and Restoration, and as a member of the İstanbul Conservation Board No. II. Currently engaged in his architectural work as the chairman of Yenilem Proje Danışmanlık A.Ş., Genim’s work includes a high number of architectural applications, particularly on restoration, exhibition arrangements, and published articles and papers. His works, From Konstantiniyye to İstanbul, Photographs of the Rumeli Shore of the Bosphorus from the mid-19th Century to 20th Century (2006) and From Konstantiniyye to İstanbul, Photographs of the Anatolia Shore of the Bosphorus from the mid-19th Century to 20th Century (2012) were published in four volumes by the İstanbul Studies Institute of Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation. He is actively engaged in the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects, International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Foundation for Political and Social Studies, Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (TEGV), Research Institute on Mediterranean Civilizations, and Turkish Cultural Services Foundation.
